Kbrizzy, Phanas and JoyRukanza – Rubies and Diamonds

Rapper KBrizzy and producer Phanas, are back yet again with another single, this time they brought in the lady with the amazing vocals, JoyRukanza, the song is titled Rubies and Diamonds.

The duo is expected to release an album on the 29th of April 2022 entitled WWNBL (When We’re Not Being Lazy). This is the first single of the album. For me, this is a very unique song. I love it when producers blend more than one genre into a song. I loved it instantly, even before I heard the vocals from Joy and the raps from KBrizzy. He fused a bit of kwaito, hip hop and amapiano.

The song title alludes to their wish for a good life full of luxury, what we, as the youth lately, would call the “soft life”. And generally wealthy people are the ones that are able to afford these precious stones. They are encouraging us to work so that we’re able to afford these stones. We all want the lush and lavish that comes with the rubies and diamonds.

I got to appreciate the vocals by JoyRukanza as the song progressed. The lovely melodies from her would make one think that they can sing when in fact they can’t. The vocals took us back to when she wowed us with Roses, about a year ago. We are definitely in love with her vocals and they blended so well with the overall song.

KBrizzy came in with the baaaaars, I wish the song was longer and we’d have been able to tell you how much more this man can deliver. The opening lines had us on the edge of our seats, “Legacy is marathon, I’m Tony Soprano that’s why the voice got no baritone, A Goldie with audio a George Zamdela song.

Pushi kara lama ghost uDom Torreto walento

If you’re a big Fast and the Furious fan you’d catch that fast, but it took me a while to catch because I was focusing on the instrumental as the song went on but WOW!

And when he said he came out of the soil like Samthing Soweto, I definitely lost my mind a little there.

All in all, the song is a certified hit in our books and we’d give it a 9/10 rating, the 1 is just so that they don’t grow a big head. 🤪

Stream the song and you won’t be disappointed, I know I wasn’t.
