New Music: Yaezzy – Waste Your Time

Published on

Heartbreak and music hits different. Besides the obvious pain, there’s an extra oompf that comes with heartbreak that has a soundtrack. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions.
Your playlist has to have that one song that really hits the spot. Nxa ungela, I bring good news, a new song to blindly add to your playlist because it’s just that good.

Yaezzy is a singer songwriter and the mastermind behind Waste Your Time, a pop song about heartbreak. There’s no other way to say this but this girl is talented and she’s only 14!

The songstress sings about the dedication, obsession, intoxication and sadness that comes with having your heart broken. It has all the elements of a ballad or whatever the opposite of ballad is. The simplicity does it for me. It’s straight to the point and nothing complicated, it’s just a girl with a guitar. Her voice is soft and soothing, it carries the song delicately, which is interesting because there’s nothing delicate about the message.

She sings, “Little young me was so dedicated,/ Intoxicated with madness,/ Notice how that rhymes with sadness,/…,/ I’m irritated,/ And there’s no nice way to say this,/ But I’m being honest I hate you,/ On the contrary I think that I love you.” I just want to know, Yaezzy, who hurt you sim’dinge?

It’s such a relatable song because we’ve all been through the sadness, the hatred and back to loving them, all in one day. You dedicated your time and effort only to have all that wasted. The pits hey.

The talent this girl has is out of this world. This song is amazing and she has a bright future ahead of her. Honestly I thoroughly enjoyed the track from beginning to end. And you might too, whether your heart was blown to smithereens, kumbe you’ve been ghosted or your best friend calls someone else bestie, you’ll be able to relate. Check out Waste Your Time below.
