Unveiling She.Pana’s Thoughts, One Word At A Time

iNgudukazi Magazine: What type of writing do you?
She.Pana: Poetry. I’m in love with the form and how the words can liberate the unspoken emotions within. It’s like an unsung song or an imaginary portrait.
iNgudukazi Magazine: We can’t share our words without them having meaning, otherwise we’d be like an empty vessel, we’d just make the most noise. Now no one wants their words to fall on deaf ears. Which leads to my next question… What message do you want your audience to carry with them?
She.Pana: There are times when you need to sort out the words. However, when you find yourself with words that flow through you like an endless fountain, pour them out and allow the reader to drink. Lastly, always be willing to release your art to the world without monetary expectation. Sometimes people need to get a taste before they can purchase the product.
iNgudukazi Magazine: From one writer to another, we both know that writer’s block can be such an enemy of progress lol. It can set you back when it comes to writing. Do you ever find yourself caught in a block of no inspiration? How do you get over it?
She.Pana
She.Pana: On numerous occasions. I get over it by waiting. One cannot rush art, when you do, it barely comes out the way one would have envisioned it. Rather wait for the inspiration to ignite or find ways to be surrounded by unwritten but visually spoken art.
iNgudukazi Magazine: You know they say that poetry is the gateway to one’s soul. How long have you been doing it?
She. Pana: I’ve been doing it for 4 years
iNgudukazi Magazine: You really have been in the game for some time. Anything you want the readers to know about you?
She. Pana: I hated reading books but when l reached my teen years l began craving the written word. I found myself seeking literally scholars just to understand their mindset and reading novels for the fun of it.
iNgudukazi Magazine: What advice would you give to other authors/poets?
She. Pana: Keep writing, even if it feels or sounds lesser than what you’d have it to sound like. Everyone starts from somewhere, never allow delay to feel like denial or denial to feel like the end. iNgudukazi Magazine: What do you prefer to do in your spare time?
She. Pana: I read, watching sermons and listen to music
Gracefully Broken
Stripped away from my earthly garments
I am made bare for all to see
Restore me to my former self
Before clay met the arms of the Father.
Before I had become a mere thought to my mother,
Before I had the breath of life.
Restore me in to wholeness.
For there is a deep desire within.
A feeling that lacks words of description.
A sensation that cannot be overlooked.
Like a burning bush on mountain Horeb.
Imploded in my heart,
And you were made for great accomplishments,
A soon to be written legacy.
Let the I dictation of success begin to reflect within your life.
Drive ahead and do not look back at the review mirror
For it will derail you from the windshield,
Open your eyes and begin to see the world.
