Gara pano, which means stay here is a song about embracing someone for who they are and being their comfort, their peace despite what baggage they carry.
More often than not we fail to find peace in ourselves and sometimes we rely on others to be that for us. Relationships from friends, family, significant others etc often bring comfort and serenity to us. Their presence is our light we didn’t know we needed. They accept you as you are.
Following her debut album, Chioniso has dropped a new track titled ‘Gara Pano’ under One Time Record.
Chioniso has a beautiful soft voice. That’s why I believe she was made for this song. The delivery was done marvellously. Gara pano, which means ‘stay here’ is a song about embracing someone for who they are and being their comfort, their peace despite what baggage they carry. Being by their side and lightening their load. It’s a delicate message and Chioniso managed to convey it appropriately.
The fun bit about the track is the instrumental. It’s upbeat but slow enough to carry the vocals from start to end. The production on it is spot on. The producer managed to put all elements into one masterpiece.
Chioniso sings, “Gara pano,/ You don’t have to go very far,/ Gara pano, I’ll take you just as you are,/ Kana washaya rufaro mumoyo,/ Tarira kuneni chiedza chako,/….,/ I’ll carry your burdens as if they’re my own.” (Stay here, you don’t have to go very far, stay here, I’ll take you just as you are, if you lack joy in your heart, just look to me and I’ll be your light, I’ll carry your burdens as if they’re my own.)
