The Bottom Drawer

Calling all food enthusiasts based in Harare! If you’re searching for a spot that ticks all the boxes, look no further than Bottom Drawer. Situated on 14 Maasdorp Avenue, Belgravia this restaurant offers an aesthetic that’s simply divine. Imagine a beautiful country garden setting – perfect for a relaxed and intimate conversation.

Let’s get in to it shall we. The staff at Bottom Drawer are absolutely amazing. They’re wonderfully polite and patient, which was a lifesaver for me, considering I spent ages deliberating over what I wanted to try on the menu. After what felt forever (don’t judge!), I finally took inspiration from my sister’s choice.

We opted for the chicken mayo open sandwich and a refreshing homemade lemonade. My brother-in-law, on the other hand, went for the classic Full English Breakfast with an iced tea. Let me tell you, the portions were no joke! The presentation was impressive, and I have to admit, I underestimated the portions. The homemade lemonade was a real treat, perfectly tangy and thirst-quenching.

As for the chicken mayo, I’m at a loss for words! The chicken was seasoned to perfection, it was unlike any I’d ever had before. Needless to say, it’s going straight on my “must-order” list for next time. The accompanying salad was fresh, generous, and drizzled with a delightful sweet dressing. Needless to say, I was smitten with the entire experience.Truth be told, I struggled to finish my plate – it was that good and filling! If you’re looking for a hearty breakfast, Bottom Drawer won’t disappoint. It’s also a fantastic option for families. There’s a hammock nestled in the corner, perfect for a solo diner seeking a bit of peace, while the kiddies can burn some energy on the trampoline. This is a fantastic solution for those with meetings or important discussions, as it keeps little ones entertained.

From the charming ambiance and impeccable customer service to the spotless hygiene and, of course, the delicious food, Bottom Drawer gets a resounding 10 out of 10. It might be called the Bottom Drawer but the service is top shelf! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and can’t wait to return and explore the rest of the menu.
