Music Video Review: Mzoe 7 – Umjolo the Pandemic

Mzoe 7 has become synonymous with releasing high quality visuals for his amazing music. Working in conjunction with Rasquesity Keaitse (Keaitse Films), they have managed to epitomize Umjolo the Pandemic in under 6 minutes. This music video is like the Acrimony movie but better and more realistic. Actually, it’s not a music video, it’s a film. Like what Michael Jackson did with ‘Thriller.’ Umjolo the Pandemic is great storytelling in motion.

Charmaine Mudau is fast becoming our favourite video vixen. We saw both Charmaine and Mzoe 7 in Msiz’Kay’s Ngawuzw’ umoya wami music video. It’s great to see them working together again. Charmaine delivers a cold, cut-throat performance when she breaks Mzoe 7’s heart and leaves him with their child in pursuit of mbinga pastures.

The mbinga was the highlight of the music video. He greets her with two bottles and arms open wide. This was a clear indication that this would end in tears. Real money isn’t that flashy. The song itself is a hit. Mzoe 7 demonstrates his bilingual skills throughout the song. His ability to consistently produce quality work attributes to his success. He also collaborates and networks with fellow artists who are also willing to support him as well. He has set the standard of being a musician done right and it’s paying off with the list of brands willing to partner with him growing longer by the day.
