Press Release: DIFTK (Do It For The Kids) Fundraising Dinner
SHALL WE DANCE, & DELIVER HOPE?
Dear Bulawayo,
Do It For The Kids, affectionately known as DIFTK, is a registered not-for-profit organisation that exists to assist in alleviating the plight of underprivileged children in Zimbabwe for the glory of God. It has been in existence for over five (5) years, and remains committed to delivering hope to the most vulnerable in our communities.
With the COVID-19 restrictions eased, we will once again be hosting our annual charity dinner. This year, we are more ambitious than ever before, as we hope during the course of the year 2022 to fundraise US$5,000.00 for a minibus (combi), beginning our efforts with this dinner. This is necessitated by virtue of the fact that several organisations, such as Healing with Horses in the Manningdale region which offers therapeutic riding
to underprivileged children, amongst others, continue to engage us to assist them, and their child-oriented initiatives on the outskirts of town, but due to logistical challenges, we have often had to decline. This is an unfortunate reality we have faced for several years, as we have servant-hearted members ready to deliver hope, but no wheels to serve.
DIFTK aims to be the conduit between willing volunteers, and those seeking to be served, and having wheels to serve would not only make our efforts more efficient, as we capitalise on time spent serving instead of queing for transport, but a minibus would also be an income generating vehicle for the organisation, and help us more sustainably fund our own initiatives, such as the ongoing #Kids2School Project, which aims to send children from the Ngozi Mine Community to school, and holistically support their growth beyond the classroom.
It is in this light that we would be grateful if you would be so kind as to serve us by contributing towards our dinner on the 8th of April, 2022. The dinner will be held at the Bulawayo Club, and our Guest of Honour will be Mrs. Mvuselelo Huni, an experienced development practitioner, and the CEO of the Organisation of Rural Association for Progress (ORAP). We will also have some guest acts by some exciting artistes on the evening.
We would be grateful for any support to help us put together a memorable event, & will be sure to
acknowledge your contribution both during the dinner, and online on our various social media platforms.
We would also really love to have you join us for this evening, and request that you contact the Dinner
Organisers Rutendo (0778411502), or Tariro (0778987545) for any further queries or communication.
Best wishes,
