Awa Khiwe Is Here To Say Ngeke Bengimele

I love to see it, women making a mark in the industry and being unapologetic about it. She is taking up space and I am here for it.

Awa Khiwe has released a new track titled Ngeke Bengimele after a 4 year hiatus. The Bulawayo born rapper released the explosive track in collaboration with producer Ghanaian Stallion.

Released on the 20th of November, Ngeke Bengimele is the brain child of the talented artist. Awa Khiwe shows off her rapping skills in this track. Her wordplay and flow is insane.  Not only can she rap, she also raps in Ndebele. Her skills are amazing. This track has such a different sound and feel to it.

What l love most about Ngeke Bengimele is her flow and the beat. This girl was on beat ever single time, she didn’t miss once. Awa Khiwe and Ghanaian Stallion are a formidable combination. Not only did they produce, they delivered quality.

She raps, “I’ve been around and I’m still here,/ I’ve been a thug and still a queen. Man for four years I stayed low,/ Ngithi ngibanike a chance to blow,/ Kodwa lamanje ngibadla ngikhatshana njengombombombo.” Honestly these are bars. Throughout the track she drops bars on bars on bars. She puts emphasis on the fact that she is the best and you can’t come for her because she’s anointed. She says she has the passion and works hard for what she wants. I love to see it, women making a mark in the industry and being unapologetic about it. She is taking up space and I am here for it.

Honestly Awa Khiwe is the rapper she thinks she is. She talented and an enigma in the hip hop world and there is no doubt about it. This is a side of Zim Hip Hop that we need to see more of. More female rappers. More vernacular rappers. It’s our culture and we should embrace it. No one else will.

Imagine sleeping on Bulawayo hip hop artists? Don’t be that person. Check out the track below.
