New Music: Asaph, Msiz’kay & Mawiza – Back To December

KeDecember boss! And in true December spirit, it’s time to turn up and there is no better way to do it without an authentic Blues track.

KeDecember boss! And in true December spirit, it’s time to turn up and there is no better way to do it without an authentic Blues track.

We got a double December treat this week. A week after announcing the release of his new track, Asaph the King of vibes, has released the track and music video for BTD (Back To December) featuring Msiz’kay and Mawiza. It’s a summer jam, a December jam to jaiva to.

The track is an embodiment of December vibes, and like Msiz’kay sings ‘kulit lit lit!’ The trio came and delivered. The production by Larnyx was done gracefully. It’s the definition of a summer song. Nothing complicated, the atmosphere changes when you play this track. Asaph’s bars and voice as usual were on point. Msiz’kay came in and serenaded the track with his great vocals. Mawiza came through and added that extra touch/ spice, bringing all together. I was ready to jaiva.

The video was shot an edited by Blaqink Creates. The imagery in the track is amazing. From the colours, props and outfits, it all makes sense. It’s a summer feel. With beautiful people in their element like it should be, relaxed and breezy. Yibumnandi bodwa (it’s just enjoyement). Blaqink did his thing here and not forgetting to mention the guys and girls in the video, just glowing and doing the most. Like the chorus states ‘back to december abantwana bayazitshela’, I love it!

Asaph raps, “Let’s take it back to the city nights,/ Lost in the city lights,/ Follow on the gram and seeing what we be living like,/ The budget is looking right so vele siphil’ ilife,/ Summer in the burg so the Betty’s be looking nice”
Msiz’kay sings, “…It’s a vibe, it’s a turn up kulit lit lit, yibumnandi bodwa,/ Chillaz hollaz,/… yeah we’re young wild and free,/ Too much sauce isauce iyachitheka thina we young, wild and free.”
Mawiza raps, “…Nkulunkulu for the impilo ngithi dankie,/ Amajita vele athi ngcono senze something,/ Umphako kaDecember sigcwele esami iskaftin,/ Ngizidlela opumpkin.”
It all makes me sabawel’ a shisanyama with summer tunes on repeat. It’s time to jaiva on the weekend and sing out loud and make memories to this track.

This is a definite plus one to my December playlist! The vibe is correct with this one. Check it out below.
