Munch and Sip Bulawayo’s Biggest Food Festival to Return

Munch and Sip

The biggest Food and Drink festival in the City of Kings and Queens, Munch and Sip, is coming back once again on the 28th August. It will be held at the Matopos Sailing Club. The last edition was held in April.

Munch and Sip is a product of Lemongroove Events, that hosts a series of brands through event curating. From as early as 2017, they’ve been working hard to make sure the event is as perfect as it can be. Before Covid-19, it used to take place every last Sunday of the second month but with the uncertainty of things that has since changed. I’ve had the privilege of attending a couple of editions and I’ve been wowed every single time.

The food, the drinks, the people and the vibes have all been correct as Asaph would say, wink wink. I have not been disappointed every-time I’ve been there. Even at the different venues, the scenery is always pleasantly looking, especially during summer when the sun is out and shining. Whilst people are enjoying their food and drinks, there’s always some entertainment on the side, I mean what’s a festival without a bit of entertainment.

The entertainment line up has featured some big names in the city, namely Asaph, MJ Sings, Djembe Monks, Tariro Negitare, Indigo Saint, Mimmie Tarukwana, Kyla Blac just to name a few. This edition is just as exciting as another big name has been brought to entertain us. This edition will be headlined by Gemma Griffiths and supported by DJs Ryan Synth and DJ Keezy.

On top of the exciting entertainment line up, on the food court, three chefs will be competing in a cook off. The participants will be judged by visiting tasters on the day. They will be judged based on the use of ingredients in a mystery box, creativity of the dish, the individual style of the chef, inspiration, recipe composition and presentation. The winner receives prize money and branded merchandise plus top of the range chef knives.

The events keeps getting bigger and bigger, be a part of it and enjoy, you will not regret it. Tickets will be available at the gate. A shuttle will be available to ferry those who are not able to drive the venue due to the distance.
