After what seems like an eternity Takura fans are in for a treat. Takura has released the track and music video for his song titled “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay.” The track is the intro off of his 12 track EP, Star Signs set to be released on the 28th of September.
Had the pleasure of working on the images for @takuralife ‘s (link in bio) new song “It’s okay not to be okay”. Some amazing work from an amazing team. These are some of my favorites from the shoot. The video is out now on YouTube ✨
The video follows the release of Mufaro and just like all his previous work, this video is a masterpiece.
In the freestyle he raps about not being okay, taking a break and overcoming it all. Takura emphasizes that it’s okay to feel and process your emotions. The important thing is getting back up and hustling to make ends meet.
Its ok not to be ok video out now on YouTube… 🔥🔥🔥 RT
Takura raps, “Sometimes I wanna be alone/ Sometimes I don’t know what I really want/ But what I know is right now ndoda kubvumbatirwa(I need a hug), And I don’t even trust a soul ndiana(they’re) Simon Peter/ In a world so cold niggas wanted me to fold I don’t fold nigga.”
In the video we first hear his daughter’s voice proclaiming that “you’re my best daddy in the whole biggest world.” It melts my heart. More importantly it sets the tone for the song and EP. At the end of the day he’s just like everyone else. He is a father, a son and human and he goes through rough days.
The video begins with his ‘queen’ crowning him’. It slowly progresses to him being in a strait jacket with 2 people torturing him. Through out the video we are shown that he is a king. Just like all other people, kings too go through hardships.
Just finished working on an amazing project with @takuralife , head over to YouTube to check ut out! #starsignsEp
Visually, the video is a pleasant sight. We can safely say that it has good directing and a great concept. There’s no discord between the track and video. Not forgetting the refined HD cinematography (would highly recommend watching it in 1080p)
The talent behind the camera did great justice to this track. They captured the relevant themes from the track and layering it into a masterpiece. Directed and produced by Visuals by Prosper and John the Producer respectively, the track and video has been well received by fans. We can gladly say we are looking forward to more quality acoustics and imagery.
