Sam Smith and Burna Boy’s Melodious Collaboration.

“My Oasis” is the song you didn’t know you needed. The blend and smoothness of their voices is unmatched and this track will definitely be making it on to your playlist.

Months after announcing the postponing and renaming of his third studio album, Sam Smith has released a groovy new track titled My Oasis featuring Nigeria’s Burna Boy.

In a press release Sam describes this track as a beautiful release of emotions for him during this time and that he has been a fan of Burna Boy for years now and am so happy to have a tune with him.”

His album originally entitled ‘To Die For’, was set to be released on May 1, but the singer-songwriter’s sentiments were that it didn’t “feel right” due to the corona virus pandemic and hence made a decision to push back the release date. The star however did promise his fans to continue working on the album and bring out new music over the following months.

The track begins with Sam singing, “Keep thinkin’ that I’m seein’ water/You’re playing tricks on me in the sun/See your shadow in the courtyard/Stays until the day is done.” True to the artist’s nature, the song displays a deep yearning for love that is not being reciprocated. It indicates an inconsistency and insecurity of sorts in this relationship.
