Music Video Review: M.U.S.E feat. Asaph – Pressure

With the current tussle going on for the title of the King of Hip Hop, the pressure video reminds us that there is room for everyone. Lingabi lePressure.

M.U.S.E and Asaph Afrika

The Bulawayo rap kings M.U.S.E and Asaph have dropped a banger called ‘Pressure’ and we are all the way here for it! The instrumental and overall production of the song was top tier. The hook was catchy AF and I almost wish the song was longer. Asaph’s, “I maneuver like a fit,” lyric ended me. He really likes to reference the mshikashikas which is what makes him relatable. You need to listen to the track over and over again for you to dig up some of those punchlines. The hook is really memorable it’s great. You can vibe off of the hook alone throughout the song which probably explains why it’s only like 2 minutes but it is a dope track!

The video was directed by Andy Cutta who is behind most of Zimbabwe’s top music videos. The swagger, the drip in the video is immaculate. Kudos to the person who styled the artists and the extras. It perfectly ties with the song, because we all know, hip hop and immaculate drip, same WhatsApp group. The overall vibe of the video is correct, typical Skyz, laid back vibes. In Asaph’s words, ‘Skies city is you with me, forever taking it easy.’

The video illustrates healthy competition between M.U.S.E and Asaph. They start off with gambling at the pool table and end up in the streets racing. The beauty is in how both artists are so different yet they make such great music. Game recognizes game and in M.U.S.E’s words, ‘god level, son I’ve always been part of the top tier.’ With the current tussle going on for the title of the King of Hip Hop, the pressure video reminds us that there is room for everyone. If those self-branded t-shirts that they are rocking in the music video go on sale, I’m going to be first in line. Take my money!
