There’s no feeling that beats the feeling of good new music. It’s food for the soul and today we’re feasting. This week we have a new EP by Mimmie Tarukwana titled They Love Mimmie. It’s an R&B Soul project consisting of 4 tracks. This is the songstress’ first EP and it’s a beautiful piece of work.
From the word go, Mimmie makes it known she’s not here to play. Bambelela is a gentle yet powerful song. Bambelela means to hold on and the words in the track are encouraging. It’s an emotional song. There’s so much that goes into holding on, it takes a lot from you and anyone can relate. ‘Konke kuzalunga, everything will be fine. Have hope.’ Mimmie put her all on this beautiful track. It’s fitting that it’s the first song, when you have hope you can never go wrong.
First Love is simply about love. No one forgets their first love. The vocabulary she uses is gorgeous. We all love love. And when you feel that craving to be around your person, just listen to this track. It’s a peaceful song. There’s nothing forced, it flows from beginning to end. Personally I love this song it’s worth playing over and over again.
Because of You is an awesome track. It’s the instrumental and the voice for me. She’s basically saying, I am because of you. Ubuntu makes us who we are. It’s a wholesome song. It gives you a feeling of wholeness when you listen to it and dare I say, it grounds you. Not forgetting the fact that it brings out a couple of dance moves.
One Time featuring Asaph is a vibe. The entire song centres around having a good time. What’s most interesting about the track is the contrast between their voices. It’s the best of both worlds. It’s a nice track that’s great for a relaxed night out. Good vibes only.
It’s a refreshing piece of art. An effortlessly beautiful EP. The production on the They Love Mimmie is immaculate, not forgetting the graceful vocals. Mimmie beyond talented and is going places and we have the privilege to witness it.
The EP is available on all leading digital platforms. Check out the lyric video for Bambelela from the EP They Love Mimmie below.

Music is my first love and my source of therapy hence I found it fitting to give you my opinion on new music and maybe just maybe, convince you that you need music.
