It is such an uplifting song for a beautiful loving people. Strength is in us. Pride is in us. Siyaz’qhenya ngoBulawayo and we are more than happy to share it with the world.
As you are all aware, being from Bulawayo automatically means you are a rare gem.
This week we have been graced with a beautiful and powerful collaboration put together by the great talent that is Vusa Mkhaya. 17 artistes hailing from the City Of Kings came together and produced a beam of light titled ‘Masiyephambili.’
The track boasts of numerous gifted artistes namely, Mimie Tarukwana, Mawiza, Lady Tshawe, Cingi, Novuyo Seagirl, Vuyo Brown, Qeqeshiwe, Asaph, Taz, Njabulo Moyo, Lamas Ellz, T3rry Tempo, Killemol, Desire Moyoxide, Erastus Nleya, Mthabisi Moyo and Joel Nyoni. With so many talented artists on the track, I am suprised at the quality of the track. Despite being a mix of various genres, Masiyephambili is a masterpiece. It just works. It doesn’t matter what your preference is, you will find something in this song that will resonate with your spirit.
The song is about the beauty of Bulawayo, that is found in both in her streets and her people. Hard working, hopeful, strong and resilient are just a few words to describe the children of Bulawayo. And as the chorus states ‘Asilahli themba singabako Bulawayo.’
To be able to produce a seamless and timeless track and unite artistes in this manner is not an easy task. But Vusa Mkhaya pulled it off gracefully and I couldn’t be happier. His selection of artistes is marvellous, he has the Midas touch.
MASIYEPHAMBILI is now available on iTunes. Other online stores loading………………………… https://t.co/iEqPh3Bt2t
Throughout the song you will be graced by beautiful voices, verses and monologues. You’ll hear lines such as these, “The royalty is inside of me,” “Do you know the power you possess? The future is yours to posses,” “Sizwe samaKhosi, masiye phambili,” and “Mthwakazi Kandaba umkhulu uyesabeka.” It is such a beautiful display of art and pride.
