Bulawayo Contemporary Christian artist Vuyo Brown has released the visuals for her single, ‘Imvana’ produced by Perseverance Mativenga. The audio version for the song went on sale on the 10th of June earlier this year. Through the Pay-What-You-Want model, fans were able to pay any amount in order to receive the single by Vuyo Brown.
The song is about the Lamb of God who was slain for us on the cross. Vuyo’s vocals are rich, sultry and smooth. The song is melodious and harmonious which makes it addictive and impossible to get out of your head. Vuyo Brown gave us an earworm with depth and substance. The production of the track is also something to appreciate. The choice of instruments from the violins, guitar and drums is well thought out and arranged meticulously.
The music video was directed by Clinton and I am very impressed by the visuals. The artistry that went behind the angles was refreshing. The choreography was smooth yet expressive. The video served us looks, choreography, vibrancy, aesthetics and the song itself is beautiful. It’s a fresh take on gospel which is appealing to today’s audience. Who said gospel had to be boring?
The video was shot in the Bulawayo Art Gallery which has become a popular spot for Bulawayo artists. It is noteworthy to applaud the Bulawayo Art Gallery for their efforts to support the Bulawayo arts. Bhakar outdid themselves with the outfit for Vuyo Brown and Briliance Beauty did the make up. If you are a Christian, do you know the relevance of why they included the sackcloth?
Vuyo Brown is taking her craft to the next level and we can learn a few things from her. She provided lyrics and the translation in the music video’s description box on YouTube. She also attributed the creatives who were part of the team to make this video the beauty that it is. She is going places and taking other people with her. Kudos Vuyo for that!
